• Re-apply paint to bare metal spots annually to protect the goal from the elements.
• Be prepared to re-paint the goal at some point in its life span.

All movable soccer goals should be secured or anchored. Keeper Goals recommends the use of duckbill ground anchors to properly anchor soccer goals to meet ASTM guidelines.

Light goals, when tipped, can still cause serious injury. The design of the goal, and proper anchoring of the goal, plays a greater role than the weight of the goal. Goals anchored correctly dramatically improve safety – our number one concern.

Keeper Goals recommends the use of duckbill ground anchors to properly anchor soccer goals to meet ASTM guidelines.

Sandbags and weights may be used but are simply not as reliable as anchoring or locking goals. Please be advised that anchor weights and sandbags can be easily moved off the goals. The anchor weights or sandbags should remain fastened to the goal at all times and should be monitored as such to ensure the safety of those using the goals. If using anchor weights or sandbags to anchor your goals please obtain information from the goal manufacturer regarding how much weight is needed for your goals to meet ASTM guidelines.

In unison with the use of weights or sandbags we suggest locking goals face to face when they are not in use or securing them to objects so that they cannot be moved.

Only adults should move goals. Wheeled goals are the easiest and safest option and help prolong the life of the goal.

No. All of our full size goals have crossbars that are a single piece; therefore the crossbar cannot be broken down. We make full size goals that are to be left on site; in doing so, we maintain the safest soccer goals possible. We do manufacture/distribute several types of small-sided goals, some of which can be easily transported. We also carry a 8′ x 24′ shooting goal that breaks down into 4 ft. sections. This can be easily transported. However, it is not to be used for competition.

No net attachment system is perfect. We believe our cable, clip attachment system is the best available. This system has two advantages over other systems. First, the clips secure to cables that remain attached to the goal; attached clips mean less daily preparation for putting up the net. Second, in this system the stress is on the cable as opposed to the net or the clips. The clips move on the cable, which also alleviates stress, thus prolonging the life of both the net and clips.

It is time-consuming to weld connectors and string cable. We feel it is worth the time to create an easier product for our customer.

• If keeping the shooting goal in one area we recommend Economy Flat Soccer Shooting Goal (Ask for model ##EFSG-2-824, #EFSG-2-618, or #EFSG-2-49). These shooting goals are also great for breaking down into small pieces for storage.
• If looking for a shooting goal you want to breakdown and easily transport in a car then we recommend the FFIT Soccer shooting Goal
• If looking for a shooting goal in your back yard we recommend one of our Soccer Rebounder Goals (Ask for Model #SGR-612, #SGR-6618, or #SGR-Custom)

The key factors to consider when determining this are:

A) What age groups will be using the goals?

• You will want goals that use 8’ h x 24’ wide goals
• For kids 12 and younger playing 8v8, 5v5, or 3v3 you will want smaller goals

B) Will the goals stay in place after the event is over to be used for the future? And Do you want the goals to meet USYSA, FIFA, NFHS, NCAA regulations?

• If leaving goals in place after event and you want official goals that can be used for future events we recommend the MAL or Elite 4” round soccer goals (8×24). However, if you don’t need to meet NFHS then we recommend MSG 3’ round

• If just for a one time event then we recommend 2” aluminum goals SGE2-824 or #PSGE2-824-BB (with back stays) OR Bow Nets

On all M88w goals the height of wheel takes into account the height of the goals – so a 8 x 24 goal is 8’ from ground up- the wheels on these goals always stay attached. The slide comes down in front to take up the room. (See pictures on web site and You tube video on moving them.)

A box-style soccer goal is a goal that has equal back-depth on the top and the bottom of the goal. For example a soccer goal with a height of 8′, a width of 24′ a top back-depth of 6′ and bottom back-depth of 6′ would be a box-style soccer. Whereas another popular size goal with a height of 8′, a width of 24′ a top back-depth of 3′ and bottom back-depth of 8′ would not be.

There are multiple materials that can be used for gym dividers. The most common are;

A low-rise bleacher is a bleacher with the first row of the bleacher being less than 12” from the ground. If this is the case, more than likely, adults will have a difficult time sitting in the first row as it will be too low to the ground for them. It will get used more as a step then it will for a seat. As a result, if you purchase a low-rise bleacher you may not want to count the first row into your total number of spectator seats.

A zinc primer is a spray-on coating that goes on before the powder-coating finish.  Zinc-rich primers are unique from regular primers because they contain zinc which has highly sacrificial anodic properties.  High concentrations of zinc dust act sacrificially when in direct contact with steel by providing cathodic protection and galvanizing properties.  Simply put, the zinc primer provides a secondary layer of protection.  This is an extra measure to help prevent any corrosion that the typical powder coating (without a zinc primer) may not provide during ordinary conditions over time.  However, because zinc primer is a spray-on coating, it can be scratched or nicked just like paint.

A powder coated finish provides a more durable finish than liquid paints can and are more resistant to impact, moisture, ultraviolet light, and weather which reduces the possibility of scratches, corrosion and fading. Our powder coating finish utilizes a process of “dry” painting or coating a metal part with a polyester resin. This polyester resin is in a dry powder form that is applied to the metal parts of our equipment using a spray gun. The spray gun applies an electrostatic charge to the powder particles which causes them to be attracted to the electrically grounded metal parts as it is sprayed. After the application ofthe powder coating, our equipment parts enter a curing oven where the powder is “baked” or melted to form a thin film coating on the parts. After removing from the curing oven, the coating eventually cools and dries to form ahard, scratch-resistant shell on the equipment parts.

The sleeves can be placed either before or after the sod is put down. Whether it’s better to put them in before the sod or after the sod depends on several factors.

If putting the sleeves in place BEFORE the sod is put down you will need to;

1.)  Be able to correctly estimate the finished height of the field when the sod is in place to put the sleeves the proper distance into the ground so that the goal post will be the proper height. Our semi-permanent soccer goals come with an adjustable collar so you have some room to adjust the height of the goal posts. For example, if you estimate the finished height to be 8’-0” and it is really 7’-10”, then you could adjust collar location on the goal post to achieve a finished height of 8’-0”.  However, if you estimated the finished height to be 8’-0” and it ends up being 8’-2”, then you could not adjust the finished height down to 8’-0”. The collar would not be of use because it functions to hold the goal post up, i.e., the goal post cannot be lowered farther down into the ground sleeves because it would “bottom out”. 

 2.) The tops of the ground sleeves for the goal posts will be exposed above the ground if they are installed prior to the sod. You will need to be certain that those working on the field will be careful to avoid the exposed sleeves so that they don’t crush them with equipment or damage them in some other way. 

 If putting the sleeves in place AFTER the sod is put down the goal post height should not be an issue as long as the finished height is established correctly.  However, you will need to be aware:

1.) The sod may have to be repaired in the area where the foundations and sleeves were installed.

• Divider nets weigh less than divider curtains
• You can see through nets. You can’t see through a vinyl curtain. You can see through flex-mesh curtains.
• If you get a divider net then a tension net system is an option. It is not an option with curtains. (A tension net system is an easy way to hang nets that need to disappear when not in use. They require no permanent structure or cables.)
• Nets will stretch out of shape over time.

A divider curtain suspended from a steel track mounted to the ceiling or suspended from a cable. One person can and push or pull the curtain into place.

Goalsetter hoops are made in the USA with their headquarters in Iowa. The anchor system is unique to Goalsetter and allows you to take your hoop with you if you ever move. Goalsetter offers a variety of options to choose from which we will get into next time.

The Signature Series has an offset pole that minimizes any shaking. It has a compression crank which is located inside the pole. There is only tension on the hoop when the crank is in use. The Signature Series has a raise and lower range of 6-10 feet allowing kids of all ages to play. Limited lifetime warrenty.

The Extreme Series has a straight pole giving it a clean look. The tension crank is on the outside of the pole giving you easy access when adjusting the hoop. The raising and lowering range is 7-10 feet. The Extreme Series is the cheaper of the two systems, but is still made with the same high-quality materials and has a limited lifetime guarantee.

Goalsetter’s anchor system uses a hinge pin to allow you to attach the pole, backboard and rim while the hoop is almost touching the ground. When this is done, all you have to do is push up the hoop and insert the bolts. What is really cool though is when you move, you can easily take your hoop down and move it with you!

Customers frequently ask us where to put their basketball hoop in their driveway. It’s important to put your hoop in a spot that maximizes court space on your driveway.

A couple of things to remember:

• Put it in a spot that reduces that chance of your car hitting it,
• Put it close to cement to ensure stability, and
• Remember there will be at least 2 feet of overhang from where the pole is

The net’s intended use:

• Indoor facilities with high traffic for shots would require a higher strength net with a smaller mesh
• Higher strength nets are also recommended for facilities where multiple sports are played

Life of the net:

• Stronger nets with smaller mesh last longest
• Our most common mesh size, 2-inches, sees an average life span of 3-7 years

Available colors:

• There are certain materials that nets only come in specific colors
• We can paint colors onto the net but it gets expensive and will wear over time
• We recommend getting a net in a standard color with the size that best fits your needs
• You can get checkered or striped nets but can get very expensive

Yes, in instances where you can’t find exactly what you are looking for we may be able to build custom goals for your needs. For example, we have built low and wide goals for coaches to use in training activities where shooting is emphasized. We have been asked for these so frequently that we finally wised up and made a standard goal that is 2.5′ high and 9′ wide. We call it the Widemouth Goal. And, bonus, we can still custom make these beauties for you in other sizes and colors.

For goals with a shorter back depth, you can add pads to cover the back and side bottom bars as a safety measure.

A wheel can only go in one direction at a time because it has a single axis. A caster wheel has a wheel PLUS a mounting system that holds the wheel. There are two kinds of casters, fixed casters, (sometimes also referred to as rigid casters) and swivel casters. Rigid casters are best for things that only need to go forward and backward. Swivel casters rotate 360 degrees and thus can be used to turn objects. The caster wheels we use on our soccer goals are swivel casters.

• You can have your entire goals painted to coordinate with your club or school colors to add a professional look to your fields and build a school or club spirit. Some do this purely for aesthetic value. It just looks cool. Some do this for more practical reasons; to label fields for games, tournaments, or camps to help players, staff, and parents identify where they are supposed to be quickly and easily. (For example, you could label your fields yellow-north, yellow-south, and use yellow goals on these fields, red-east, red-west, and use red goals on these fields, etc.)
• You could choose to add just a pop of color to a portion of a goal. The backup posts on our box-style Stadium Cup Goals are a popular spot for this. Choose to paint your backup posts to coordinate with your club or school colors to help brand your stadium and make your goals pop! Some choose to just paint the crossbar and uprights a different color, and some may choose to paint only the backstays on a traditional style goal.
• For goals that won’t be used for official competitions some opt to add stickers to add color with their club logo. (Note: for official competition goals the use of stickers is regulated.) There are so many possibilities!

Sometimes soccer goals need to fit in front of things like a football goal post. Sometimes a custom back bar is needed on the soccer goal so it can fit. For example, a common request is a soccer goal with a custom back bar that has a ‘cut-out’ piece that can go around a football goalpost. It’s not uncommon for a high school football goalpost to have a 6′ overhang and many soccer goals have an 8′ back depth.  But if you want a goal with a normal back depth customizing the back bar to accommodate the football goalpost is an option.

• Bolt the goal to the ground – base plates are welded onto the base of the goal to secure the goal to the ground
• Secure the goal to a wall, base plates are welded to the backstays of the goal to secure the goal to the wall
• Fabricate the goal with additional weight built into the frame of the goal.
• Add additional weight to the goal using anchor weights. Please note that anchor weights can be easily moved and need to be monitored to make sure they remain on the goals at all times!

• Many indoor facilities have goals with custom back depth so the goals can fit in a smaller space. In these
  cases the goals need to be weighted or secured to prevent the goal from tipping over.
• It’s typically not possible to the more some common methods of anchoring goal indoors because holes
  can’t be put in the playing surface. So other methods of anchoring the goals need to be utilized.

• Bolt the goal to the ground.
• Secure the goal to a wall.
• Use duckbill or other ground anchors if it is possible to install the anchors through and below the floor.
• Fabricate the goal with additional weight built into the frame of the goal.
• Add additional weight to the goal using anchor weights. Note: Anchor weights can be easily moved and
  need to be monitored to make sure they remain on the goals at all times!

According to FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game 2021/22 the size of an official futsal goal is defined as “The distance (inside measurement) between the posts is 3m and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2m. Both goalposts and the crossbar have the same width and depth as the goal lines, 8cm.”  This converts to approximately 6’7″ high x 9’10” wide. We can cover imperfections and corrugated metals. The certified 3M installers will cut around the windows, hardware. They will also cut out the spots where the garage separates when it moves to retract onto the ceiling.

Certified 3M installers install the garage door wrap. We would recommend you DON’T install it yourself.

These graphics are removable if needed, but it takes some work. They can be removed with heat guns and some effort to roll the graphics off.

When you use netting as a divider curtain for a gym or other indoor sports facility, a disadvantage is that the netting will stretch and lose it’s shape over time.
