Gared was founded in 1922 by Alvie Sandeberg and was then known as the Non-Pareil Manufacturing Company. It was renamed the Gared Company in 1958 when it was purchased by Nixdorff Krein Inc. The company now operates under the name Gared to signify that the company has expanded to include many segments of the sports and recreation industry, including custom gymnasium structures, Park & Recreation equipment and amenities, scoreboards, and residential basketball systems.
