A Custom Netting Solution for Moor Downs Golf Course

Hole 5 of Moor Downs Golf Course in Waukesha County runs parallel to Riverview Avenue, creating a unique challenge for the course and surrounding properties. To improve safety in the area, Moor Downs partnered with Keeper Goals to design and install a custom protective barrier netting system that helps contain stray golf balls while maintaining the natural appearance and open feel of the course.

Protecting Surrounding Properties Without Sacrificing Appearance

With neighboring businesses and passersby located near the course, Moor Downs needed a protective solution capable of handling stray golf shots. The netting needed to be tall and durable enough to provide effective protection while blending into the surrounding landscape and minimizing its visual impact.

This meant creating a system that provided the necessary safety without becoming a distraction for golfers or interfering with the views across the course.

Protective Netting Designed for the Course

Keeper Goals designed the system specifically around the needs of the course and the areas requiring additional protection. The finished system spans 350 feet in length, with heights reaching up to 30 feet in key impact areas.

Heavy-duty steel posts support high-strength golf netting with a tight mesh size engineered to stop golf balls while remaining visually unobtrusive. The placement of the posts, net tension, and overall system layout were carefully planned to maximize protection while keeping the netting seamlessly integrated with the course.

Built for Long-Term Outdoor Safety

Because the system is exposed to the elements year-round, durability was an important consideration throughout the project. The combination of heavy-duty steel posts and high-strength netting provides a long-term protective barrier designed to withstand the demands of an outdoor golf course environment.

The completed installation gives Moor Downs Golf Course an effective safety solution while preserving the appearance and playability of the property.
